The National Palace Museum, first established in 1925, holds a permanent collection numbering some 700,000 pieces, spanning 8,000 years of history, and is regarded as one of the world’s greatest repositories of Chinese art and culture.

ELEGANCE WITHIN FUNCTIONALITY
A voluptuous 12th to 13th century celadon tripod censer, based on an earlier bronze antecedent, comes full circle, returning as a satin finish pewter tea caddy with a sculpted lotus-themed finial. Based on a celadon-glazed li censer, Longquan ware; Southern Song to Yuan dynasties (12th to 13th century).

A collaborative project with Taiwan’s National Palace Museum to reimagine its priceless collection of Chinese artworks and artefacts as objects for a contemporary lifestyle. Each piece carries the Museum’s logotype.

The design of the piece is reproduced in extremely high quality pewter.
FILING
Excess pewter and parting lines are removed to reveal fine details.
SCOTCHING
The surface undergoes scotching to achieve a smooth sheen.
HAND-POLISHING
Fine corners and edges are carefully hand polished, leaving a perfect finish.
